There is never a good time to lose data, but luckily for me, 75watts.com was there to save the day! Before my external hard drive crashed, I had somehow managed to move ALL of my company files AND personal files to one drive. They say don't keep your eggs in one basket, but I guess you don't learn the fire is hot until you get burned. I called James, and he immediately got to work on it. August 2009   (back to school...rats!)

Very quick service- Dropped off my hard drive on a Wed., got it back on Friday. My wife is an amateur photographer and I'm an audiophile so there were thousands of files lost when our hard drive went down. As others have corroborated, I price-shopped and Mr. Watts was easily the most economical option. The places my hard drive company recommended started at anywhere from 3-500 bucks, and even Best Buy was $160. It may take you a while to get all your files renamed- but really, isn't that the good problem to have? I'd recommend Mr. Watts to any & all.

I had a 500Gb external hard drive that would not mount to my iMac. I made several attempts to work with Lacie to solve the problem which took many emails and a warranty service that would fix my hard drive but I would have to lose photos, iTunes music and videos and much more. I found 75watts.com in a Google local hard drive recovery search. I read all the testamonials and emailed James. He returned a phone call the next day and we worked out times to give him the damaged hard drive. He recovered all my files within two days and helped me after receiving the restored drives, and continues to help me with copying files to a new hard drive and to DVDs. What a great experience! After receiving ridiculously expensive quotes from several other sources including one nationally known, I gave 75watts a call. All expected charges were clarified up front and everything was explained very professionally and clearly. I left our initial meeting knowing what I would get and pay regardless of the outcome. If the recovery was successful I would have my data or some portion of it and it would cost no more than $100. If it was not successful then I was only out my time. January 2009   (happy new year!)

You are the best!  After returning from a trip south for the New Year; I came home to find my computer was sounding terrible.  From the time the repair man took my computer to his office the hard drive had crashed. I was told a new computer would be required and the crashed was was gone and all its contents forever.  I had literally thousands of photos and family DVD shows on the computer.  I contacted Mr. Watts through his website.  He called me with in 2 hours and arranged a meeting to pick up my crashed computer.  After having the system for only a few hours he was able to recover all the data and store it on the external hard drive I had provided.  Mr. Watts is professional in every sense of the word.  I can't thank him enough for recovering my precious photos.  If you opt to never back up your computer then you better keep Jim Watts on speed dial.  He is the greatest.

We set out to transfer the data from an older Gateway PC to our newer iMac, but could not get beyond DOS and into Windows. The machine hadn't been used in two or three years. We called around to the usual suspects - the big box retailers who sell and service computers - and were told the hard drive was probably shot. When I asked if that meant there was no way to extract the data from it, I was told that it may be possible, but it could be costly. Whether or not the data could be retrieved - they wouldn't know until they tried - it was going to cost me more than I wanted to spend. So I was bemoaning the situation to our twenty-five year old son who promptly did a Google search, discovered 75watts and called the owner James Watts to describe our plight. To make a long story short, I met with Mr. Watts a few days later, handed off the old hard drive and a new external drive, and within hours - literally two or three hours - I had everything back that I had nearly given up for lost. And here's a nice element that's rare these days: if he was unable to restore my data, there would have been no charge whatsoever. With everything fully recovered, however, my cost was a flat $100 which I was relieved to pay. An added bonus in the whole transaction was dealing with Mr. Watts himself. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer, more competent guy.

My laptop was stuck on a disk read error loop. After trying the Geek Squad at Best Buy and a more sophisticated local data recovery firm, both of which told me they couldn't help me, I found 75watts.com on Google. I found James' ad on Craig's list when searching for someone to help me recover data from a failed external hard drive.  James responded to my inquiry within 48 hours.  I explained my issue to James and he let me know that this was definitely something he has much experience dealing with and that he would be pleased to take a look at the hard drive to see if he could help.  I met with James a few days later and he was off to try and fix the problem.  Within 24 hours (actually much less) I received an e-mail update from James explaining where he was in the process and that things looked hopeful.  Within another 24 hours James contacted me to explain that he was able to recover the data from my hard drive and that it was ready for me to pick up.  James actually agreed to come to my home and help me go through the process of sorting through what data I wanted to keep and what could be removed.  He explained in detail the process that he used and gave me some tips to help avoid problems in the future.   In summary, James is the most professional, courteous, and honest person I have ever done business with.  He expressed to me at the very beginning that the data recovery process can be very expensive and that his goal is to offer his services at a very reasonable, affordable price and he did just that.  I paid $100.00 flat fee.  James advertised that if he was unable to solve the problem then there is no charge for his services otherwise he charges a $100.00 flat fee.   I found this to be admirable in this day given that so many people overcharge for services.  James was prompt, courteous, thorough, detailed, and kept me informed every step of the way.  I must say that I have never felt so inclined to recommend someone's services but I would recommend James Watts to everyone I know.  He is a regular guy who wants to help regular people.
